7 th Assam International Agri-Horticultural Show

Guwahati, The 7th Assam International Agri-Horticulture Show 2022 was organized in Guwahati from 17 to 19 December.

Addressing a press conference, Bora said that with the last six shows, this important event has proved to be of great help to all the stakeholders in the agriculture and horticulture sectors of the state.

“The show featured eight technical sessions deliberating on issues affecting the agriculture and horticulture sectors. There was also a buyer-seller meeting and discussions were held on climate change as well as strategies on the North East.

Apart from the participants from across the country, Agriculture Minister Shri Atul Bora said that eight foreign countries – Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Bangladesh, Nepal, Ghana, Kenya and Bhutan – have participated in the show so far.

A total of 402 stalls were set up in this show organized at Veterinary College Playground, Khanapara. Of these, 152 were by farmers and self-help groups, 50 by various departments, 70 by nurseries and 30 by indigenous food stalls.

The minister said that manufacturers and dealers of agricultural machinery and micro irrigation companies would set up 100 stalls.
